Best Practice of Endovenous Radiofrequency Ablation
Hong Ki-Pyo

Abstract
This article aims to present current consensus for the treatment of varicose vein with endovenous radiofrequency ablation (EVRFA). Acute deep vein thrombosis and acute superficial phlebitis are absolute contraindications. Range of diameter amenable to EVRFA is from 3 mm to 21 mm. Access sites for great saphenous vein and small saphenous vein were at or above the knee joint and at or above the level of the mid-calf, respectively. The position of the catheter tip is 0.5 cm inferior to saphenofemoral junction. Ultrasono guided tumescent infiltration is recommended as Grade 1B. Double heat cycles is safe and more efficacious considering mid-term venous closure rates. Post procedural compression is recommended for 7 days.
